With these craft-ready oil lamps, you don't need to worry about measuring or having tools to cut a hole in the gourd. All you need to do is decorate your gourd and pop in one of the included oil lamp inserts!**

Each oil lamp gourd is created using a special gourd shape called a "canteen" gourd. These  gourds are great for oil lamps because they grow very symmetrical and are the perfect 5"- 6" size! Canteen gourds also have very thick shells, which makes them perfect for carving! (see the stipple carved oil lamp by Gloria Crane below)
