The Accent Paste has been discontinued because you have an even better alternative! You can create your own "accent paste" in a wide variety of colors for less cost simply by mixing GourdMaster™ Pigment Powder with GourdMaster™ Protecting Wax!
Because the Pigment Powders come in 20 brilliant colors, you can create an entire palette of accent pastes simply by mixing single colors with the wax (mix 1 part Powder to half a part Wax) or combining several Pigment Powders together! For an even greater array of colors, try mixing in small amounts of GourdMaster™ Ink Dye!
Do you love the flexibility of using Gilder's Paste on your gourd art but don't want a product that dries and flakes? Then you will love the creamy texture and durability of your own, home-made GourdMaster accent pastes!
Because this mixture is made with the finest waxes and quality pigment powders with not dyes or added fillers, they will not flake off or dry out. It makes a wonderful accent for the rim of a gourd bowl or on any carved or porous surface of your gourd because the paste "floats" on the surface due to the wax!
"...I decided to use a stencil and some accent pastes. My gourd was just so-so because I was out of practice on the wood burning skills. Anyway, I decided to take some of the paste and rubbed a light coat all over the gourd and I LOVE IT!!
The paste gets into the wood burned lines and make it look antique. I'm amazed!!! I'm getting another gourd ready now to wood burn so I can use the pastes. I can't get over how awesome they look!!!!! - Della Warr, www.ibrakeforstamps.com
To create your accent paste, mix equal parts GourdMaster™ Protecting Wax and GourdMaster™ Pigment Powder. Apply using a sponge make-up brush (the kind used to apply eye shadow) for borders and accents, or if layering over other colors and product on a larger space, rub on using a piece of dry felt.
Apply two coats for a stronger effect. Experiment with heating with a heat tool, which makes the paste "melt" and soak into the gourd!
If you would like to duplicate the original colors offered in the Accent Pastes, please use the following:
Mix 1 part Pigment Powder to half a part Protecting Wax. Apply with a piece of felt.
Copper Accent Paste -- use Supper Copper Pigment Powder mixed with Protecting Wax
Gold Accent Paste -- use Aztec Gold Pigment Powder mixed with Protecting Wax
Silver Accent Paste -- use Antique Silver Pigment Powder mixed with Protecting Wax
