GourdMaster™ Formula 49 is the product you've been waiting for! Just like Gourd Wax, Formula 49 can be applied as a base coat to condition the gourd shell so that Ink Dyes go on with smooth, even color and blend easily. Formula 49 can also be used for diluting or lightening colors, and to blend Ink Dye colors together so that you get a smooth transition from one color to the next even with no base coat underneath and more! And that's not all! Formula 49 will also completely remove the ink dye or even in some cases, old leather dye. Use a piece of felt with a couple of drops of Formula 49 and wipe over any color you want removed or lightened!

Formula 49 mixes beautifally with GourdMaster™ Pigment Powders to create a transparent shimmer with just a flash of color, great for things like painting dragonfly or fairy wings.

Formula 49 is applied just like Ink Dye using a piece of felt or a Microbrush. To avoid long dry times, blot the excess off using a tissue just like you would if using a color Ink Dye.
