Welburn Gourd Farm Classes
Come out to the Welburn Gourd Farm and enjoy a day of learning and fun as professional gourd art teachers share their secrets and help you create a gourd masterpiece! The best teachers from across the country come to share their incredible knowledge and ideas. The class schedule is always being updated so check in often for new information.

Gourd Art Classes are offered throughout the year and take place in a beautiful country setting, under the oak trees at the Welburn Gourd Farm. These classes are in high demand and are usually limited to just 15-20 people per class. For your comfort, dress in layers and bring a sack lunch. Be sure to register early because spaces almost always sell out!
You can also attend the FREE Gourd Crafting Workshops, which run for about 2 hours and are offered every 2nd Saturday of the month. Click here for more details.
* Note: Please make sure you will be able to attend before you sign up. There will be a $15 administration fee for all class cancellations or changes. No refunds on cancellations after one week prior to the class or for no shows, no changes allowed after one week prior to class. |
All classes are from 9am to 4pm, we suggest you come in at least 30 minutes early.

Native Design wih Pam Redhawk

Materials Fee: $8.00 for inlay beads, paint, dye, cleaned gourd.
You need to bring: Woodburner with blade tip, dremel or other carving tool with variety of bits, dust mask, and gloves.
SPECIAL NOTE: Blue area is a sponge technique using GourdMaster Ink Dyes!

Harvest Scarecrow with Carrie Dearing

Cost: $69.00 Includes free gourd 10" or less.
Materials Fee: $15.00 for cut and cleaned gourd inside and out, sanded bottom and wooden base included. All dyes and gloves, acrylic paints, raffia for weaving and other materials to create this adorable scarecrow.
You need to bring: Woodburner with a heat dial along with a sturdy blade tip to use to woodburn with. Your favorite small paint brushes. Bring a heat gun if you have one. No dremel needed

Dragonfly Dreams Vessel with Carrie Dearing

Materials Fee:
$15 for dyes, paints and leafing
You need to bring: Woodburner with blade tip, dremel or other carving tool with variety of bits, dust mask, and a heat gun if you have one.
SPECIAL NOTE: Dragonflys will be done in gold leafing, NOT turquoise. If you want to bring your own stones, Carrie will show you how to inlay them.

Butterfly Votive wih Gloria Crane

Cost: $69.00 Includes free gourd 10" or less.
Materials Fee: $15.00 for glass votive, metal leafing, paint, dye, gloves, and cleaned gourd.
You need to bring: Woodburner with blade tip, dust mask, and Dremel tool with flex shaft, and either a Dura Grit pointed bur, a structured tooth carbide flame, a diamond flame or a Dremel tile cutting bit #562, a heat tool and fine cleaner ball if you have it.

Christmas Ornaments wih Gloria Crane

Cost: $69.00 Includes 2 free ornament gourds
Materials Fee: $5.00 for paint, dye, gloves, and cleaned gourd.
You need to bring Adjustable heat Woodburner with pens for burning fine lines, an awl, and any jewlery working tools like pliers and wire cutters.
SPECIAL NOTE: You will have many different pattern choices and leave class with at least 2 ornaments.
